Paige Perla didn’t grow up with someone handing her horses. She grew up working for them. From the time she was six years old, she was in barns — not just riding, but learning the whole thing. How a horse moves when something’s off. What it takes to earn trust that holds under pressure. How to care for an animal that will give you everything if you give it the same. That education never stopped, and twenty years later it shows in everything she does.

Today Paige is a USHJA Certified Trainer competing at Grand Prix and AA level recognized horse shows out of her private facility in Elizabeth, Colorado. She didn’t get there by being handed anything. She got there by doing the work — day after day, the kind of work most people don’t see and don’t talk about. That grit is part of who she is, and it’s exactly what she looks for in the people she trains.

She works with adults, a lot of them riders who’ve been somewhere that wasn’t seeing them, wasn’t pushing them, wasn’t building anything with them. She builds around each horse and rider combination individually. Not a system she plugs you into, but a real program built specifically for you and your horse, where you are right now and where you want to go.

Her philosophy comes down to three words: Care, Communication, Consistency. Care for the whole picture — the horse’s body, the rider’s head, the partnership between them. Communication means she tells you what’s true, not what’s easy to hear. Consistency means she shows up, keeps showing up, and does the patient, deliberate work it actually takes to get somewhere.

Paige runs P2 Equestrian in Elizabeth, Colorado, drawing riders from across the Parker and Denver area who came looking for a trainer and found something they didn’t know they needed.
